Pope Leo XIV announced on Sunday that doctors found an early, well-contained nodule on his lung during a check-up. The 71-year-old pontiff agreed to the operation, which his medical team believes is the right course of action. The Holy See Press Office said the surgery is scheduled for early next week, with about a week of recovery expected.
