PM Warned of Mandelson Reputational Risk In Documents

Significant concerns about the appointment of Lord Mandelson as ambassador to the US were revealed in newly published government documents. Government advice sent to the Prime Minister stated Lord Mandelson's connections with Jeffrey Epstein persisted beyond Epstein's 2008 underage girl conviction. The 11 December 2024 advice flagged a "reputational risk" for the Prime Minister, who sacked Mandelson on 11 September 2025.
