Plague death in US sparks UK travel warning
A woman in New Mexico has died from plague, prompting a travel alert for thousands of Brits visiting the USA for the World Cup. The Foreign Office-backed Travel Health Pro site highlighted the death in Santa Fe County, the first human case there this year. Plague is a bacterial illness carried by rodents and spread by infected fleas, common in the western US.
