Piddington villagers vote over migrant housing plans
Residents of Piddington in Oxfordshire held a symbolic referendum on Tuesday, protesting plans to house 1,256 male asylum seekers at a former military base. Cabinet minister Jonathan Reynolds defended the proposal, saying the disused MoD Bicester site is more suitable than hotels. The Home Office has applied for planning permission, but Downing Street says no final decision has been made.
