Petrol crime up 30% since Iran conflict began
The unlawful removal of fuel from filling stations is an escalating concern, potentially imposing a financial burden on forecourt businesses of over £100 million every year. Campaigners warn the UK has experienced a nearly 30 per cent increase in such incidents since the Iran conflict started in late February. Forecourt Eye recorded a 22 percent rise in instances of customers failing to pay, spanning 500 service station locations.
