Pet-friendly rental searches fall over 50% since new law
Searches for pet-friendly rental properties dropped by more than half in May and June after new laws gave renters more rights. Landlords in England cannot unreasonably refuse pets under the Renters' Rights Act. Agents report some tenants mistakenly assume automatic entitlement, despite landlords retaining the right to refuse for legitimate reasons.
