Peers could be removed for not attending House of Lords

New proposals suggest that members of the House of Lords who do not attend regularly enough could be removed from Parliament. The Lords committee recommended a phased retirement age of 80 and requiring attendance at 20% of sitting days, averaged over two sessions. The proposals seek to maintain the House's effective operation, as it presently comprises 774 members.
