Over 1,200 UK schools shut for heatwave

Record-breaking temperatures have caused more than 1,200 schools across the UK to close or offer early pick-ups. Many Greater Manchester schools and nurseries are shutting early today, with some closing at 1pm or 12pm. The Met Office says Wednesday's 36.1C in Gosport broke the previous June record from 1976.
