Outsourcing of civil service pensions failed retired staff, government admits

The government has admitted that its outsourcing of the civil service pension scheme has failed retired civil servants, with some experiencing delays of up to a year for payments. Capita, the private company running the scheme since December, has left some unable to afford rent. The Cabinet Office is now looking to bring the scheme back in-house due to "unacceptable" service levels.
