OpenAI's revenue doubles to over $40 billion annually

The maker of ChatGPT is now on track to bring in more than $40 billion in yearly revenue, a significant increase from late 2025. OpenAI's growth is partly due to its AI coding software, the sale of subscriptions, and a new advertising business. OpenAI is preparing to go public, with rival Anthropic expected to hit the market sooner.
