OpenAI releases ChatGPT 5.6 after US government cybersecurity delay

OpenAI launched its newest advanced AI model, ChatGPT 5.6, on Thursday after the US government raised cybersecurity concerns. Last month, the Trump administration requested that OpenAI restrict access to the release, making it available only to a select number of authorised users. The company reported that it had informed officials and, at their behest, confined the model's availability to partners they trusted.
