ONS error cuts 1,200 jobs data interviews
This latest mistake by the ONS, the UK's statistics body, means July's jobs figures will be of 'reduced quality'. Due to an error in May and early June, the agency misdirected interviewers to an incorrect survey, resulting in approximately 1,200 fewer household interviews. This represents a roughly 19% decrease in data acquisition and signifies another challenge faced by the ONS.
