Barack Obama told a crowd of up to 4,000 near Atlanta on Wednesday that Trump's team mounted a government-wide reply to his joke about gold-heavy White House decor. He said the White House even told Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to hold a press conference outside the restaurant. Obama was campaigning for Georgia Democrats, including Senator Jon Ossoff, a week before the midterm elections.
