Northern Ireland sees surge in child flu cases.

Ebrington Primary School in County Londonderry saw 170 pupils absent on a single day as principal Brian Guthrie described attendance worse than Covid times. The outbreak affected multiple illnesses including flu, stomach bugs and severe throat infections. Confirmed flu cases across Northern Ireland tripled in two weeks, rising from 273 to 954 cases. Some children required hospital treatment, with highest infection rates among under-fives and 5-14 year olds showing 54.2% positivity rates.
