Northern Ireland carer sentenced over dementia patient videos

Ciara Corvan, 28, a healthcare assistant at a Craigavon dementia unit, was given a two-year probation order and 100 hours of community service. She took degrading photos and videos of four elderly patients between 2022 and 2023 and shared them on Snapchat with mocking captions. Craigavon Crown Court heard it was the first such prosecution in Northern Ireland, and all four patients have since died.
