North-south life expectancy gap in England grows despite record longevity

Life expectancy in northern England has barely risen in the past decade, while the south saw gains. The growing divide means people in the north face more illnesses, suicides, and drug or alcohol-related deaths. The King's Fund health charity called the government's aim to halve this gap "unrealistic".
