Noel Gallagher is celebrating his 59th birthday with renewed attention on Oasis following the band’s reunion. Gallagher became one of the most recognisable figures of the Britpop movement during the 1990s as Oasis’s principal songwriter and guitarist. Hits including Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back in Anger helped establish the Manchester band as a major force in British music, with their influence still visible across the UK rock scene decades later.
