Nobel chemist John Jumper joins Anthropic from DeepMind

It's the second big-name exit from Google's AI lab in a week, raising questions about whether it can keep its best people. John Jumper, who shared the 2024 Nobel chemistry prize for protein-mapping tool AlphaFold, said on Friday he'll join Claude maker Anthropic. His role isn't public, but the hire fits Anthropic's push into science, after it bought a biotech startup in April.
