Nissan and Chery Plan Car Production at Sunderland Plant

Jobs at a major UK vehicle plant could gain extra work if talks lead to a final arrangement. Nissan said on 3 June it had signed a non-binding agreement with Chery to explore making the Chinese firm's passenger vehicles at its Sunderland site from the 2027 financial year. Around 6,000 people work there, while ownership and staffing would remain with Nissan.
