AI Generated (Gemini)
Casting director Nina Gold, known for her work on *Game of Thrones*, *The Crown*, and *Star Wars* films, is considered an Oscar frontrunner for pairing Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal in *Hamnet*. Gold felt Buckley possessed the necessary connection to the physical world for the role. She noted Mescal's modesty during the chemistry read. *Hamnet* recently won the Golden Globe for best motion picture drama. This year marks the first time casting directors will be honored by the Academy Awards.
