Nike co-founder gives $1bn to University of Oregon in historic donation

Phil Knight, Nike's co-founder, and his wife Penny, have given $1bn to the University of Oregon, the largest gift ever to a public university. The money will create a new engineering school in Eugene, focusing on bioengineering and other high-demand fields. The latest donation brings the Knight family's total giving to the university to more than $2bn.
