NHS begins testing a new Alzheimer's drug on adults without memory problems
A new global study wants to enrol roughly 1,600 older adults to find out whether dementia can be blocked before symptoms emerge. UK volunteers without memory issues will take a blood check looking for a specific marker that warns of future cognitive decline. High-risk participants will get either a dummy pill or Trontinemab, an experimental medicine from Swiss manufacturer Roche that targets harmful brain proteins.
