New London to Cologne trains to rival Eurostar from 2030

A startup called Gemini Trains will launch new German-built trains from Stratford International to Cologne, offering cheaper fares. The rail regulator made the Channel Tunnel available for competition late last year. Eurostar and Virgin Trains also plan direct services to Cologne from 2031, with Trenitalia and Evolyn potentially joining.
