The Instinct bot can chase refunds or book hotels for users, unlike other AI that's better at writing fiction. It works by users texting or WhatsApping a phone number, then it replies with emojis and brief messages. Founded last year, Instinct raised $US250 million from investors in August and is currently free to use.
