Navi Pillay Wins 2026 Nobel Peace Prize

South African jurist Navanethem "Navi" Pillay has won the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for efforts to promote peace and international law, the Norwegian Nobel Committee said in Oslo. Pillay, formerly UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and an International Criminal Court judge, was the first Black woman on South Africa's High Court. The award includes a gold medal, diploma and about 12 million Swedish krona.
