NASA rover finds strange honeycomb patterns on Mars, baffling scientists

NASA's Curiosity rover discovered many honeycomb-like patterns of polygons on the Martian surface in the "Valle Grande" valley last month. Scientists haven't seen so many in one place before and are unsure how they formed, but are hopeful for clues. Some past polygons suggested Mars had Earth-like wet-dry cycles, which could have been important for life.
