N Chandrasekaran to leave as Tata Group chairman next February

N Chandrasekaran, the 63-year-old chairman of Tata Group, which owns Jaguar Land Rover, will step down when his term concludes next February. He explained the choice was made because the board of Tata Sons failed to reach a consensus on extending his tenure. The announcement caused shares of listed Tata companies to fall sharply.
