Musk and Altman face off as Oakland AI trial jury seated

A nine-person jury was seated Monday in Oakland, California, for the legal battle between Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, presided over by Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers. Opening arguments began Tuesday. Musk, an OpenAI co-founder in 2015, sued the company in 2024 alleging its leaders reneged on commitments to keep the AI lab a nonprofit.
