Mosques told to run lockdown drills over attack fears
Mosques throughout the UK have received recommendations to conduct lockdown exercises and bolster security due to increasing fears of anti-Muslim violence. New directives were issued by the MCB (Muslim Council of Britain) to the approximately 500 mosques and community hubs connected with the organization. This comes after a rise in anti-Muslim hate crime, with 3,199 offences recorded in England and Wales in the year to March 2025.
