Mexico's Fatima Bosch won Miss Universe 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, defeating 120 contestants including Thailand's Praveenar Singh (first runner-up) and Venezuela's Stephany Abasali (second runner-up). The competition was marred by controversy when Thai pageant director Nawat Itsaragrisil publicly berated Bosch in a livestreamed meeting, sparking contestant walkouts. One judge quit claiming the competition was rigged by a pre-selected top 30, and another resigned for personal reasons, while Palestine made its historic debut at the pageant.
