Ministers study North England Olympic bid for 2040s.

Northern towns could gain investment and global attention under plans to bring the Olympics outside London for the first time. Ministers asked UK Sport to study a possible bid for England to stage the Olympic and Paralympic Games during the 2040s. London last hosted the event in 2012, while Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy and Chancellor Rachel Reeves backed the proposal.
