Minister confirms 500,000 UK Biobank data offered on Alibaba

Personal health information for half a million UK Biobank members was offered for sale online, causing concern for participants. Technology minister Ian Murray confirmed the data was found on Alibaba, prompting the Biobank charity to inform the Government on Monday. No purchases were made from the three listings, which have since been removed, and the data did not include names or addresses.
