Mideast hopes rise, but Pound stays frozen.
People and businesses saw little change in currency markets as traders held back while waiting for signs of progress in talks between Washington and Tehran. On Thursday, sterling stayed near $1.342 and was unchanged against the euro after a ceasefire plan involving Israel and Lebanon raised hopes but left questions. Since February 27, the pound has lost about 0.5% against the dollar.
