MI5 warns UK Parliament of Chinese spies
Security Minister Dan Jarvis declared the UK will not tolerate Chinese interference after MI5 issued an unprecedented espionage alert to MPs and peers. The alert warned that China's Ministry of State Security is using fake recruitment headhunters on LinkedIn to target parliamentarians, staff, economists, and think tank employees. Two specific recruiters, Amanda Qiu and Shirly Shen, were named as Chinese intelligence fronts. The warning comes after collapsed spy trials and amid tensions over Beijing's proposed new London embassy.
