Mexico hit by 7.4 magnitude earthquake, sparking tsunami warning
A powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck off Mexico's southern Chiapas state coast on Friday, near the city of Puerto Madero. The tremor triggered a tsunami warning for the region and was felt in neighbouring Guatemala and El Salvador, where buildings shook. The US Geological Survey reported the earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 kilometres.
