Meta's Louisiana data centre investment now over $50 billion

Meta is significantly expanding its Hyperion data centre project in rural Louisiana, making it the company's largest site. The facility will now cost over $50 billion, up from the $27 billion announced in October. The government of Louisiana is contributing to the expansion, which involves a sales tax exemption lasting 20 years for data centres constructed prior to 2029.
