Met Volunteer Police Chief Fired After AI Probe

Met Volunteer Police Chief Fired After AI Probe

Wikimedia Commons

The Metropolitan Police has dismissed Special Chief Officer James Deller, head of its volunteer Special Constabulary, after an AI-assisted Palantir Foundry probe found he copied a woman's intimate images onto his work phone. Investigators said he photographed view-once WhatsApp pictures in 2025, sent copies to his personal device, then deleted those images. He will join the College of Policing barred list and cannot serve again.
