Met Police to Stop Chasing Some Minor Tag Breaches

Met Police to Stop Chasing Some Minor Tag Breaches

The Metropolitan Police is piloting a scheme to stop acting on some minor electronic tag breaches, Sky News reports. Until spring, officers will not pursue curfew or tag battery breaches lasting under an hour unless the wearer poses a particular risk. Notifications will still be reviewed, with domestic abusers prioritised. The Met says it handles over 100 tag breaches a day amid early prisoner releases.
