Met Office issues snow warnings as temperatures drop
The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for Scotland and northern England as Arctic air moves in. Forecasters expect temperatures to drop significantly overnight, causing widespread frost and depositing up to 10cm of snow on hills above 300 metres. Travel disruption is expected on untreated roads, particularly around the Pennines and Cumbria, prompting police to urge drivers to take caution.
