Messi hat-trick, World Cup record; Mbappe, Haaland score

Lionel Messi bagged his first World Cup hat-trick, moving level with Germany's Miroslav Klose as the all-time leading scorer. This overshadowed Kylian Mbappe becoming France's record goalscorer with two goals against Senegal, and Erling Haaland's two for Norway. Messi's three goals in Argentina's 3-0 win over Algeria took his World Cup tally to 16, starting the Golden Boot race.
