Mercedes stops bid to buy Alpine racing stake

Motor racing enthusiasts won't see a joint ownership deal after an expensive price tag halted negotiations this week. Mercedes abandoned its pursuit to acquire a portion of the Alpine racing team because the current owners wanted too much money. An investment group called Otro Capital reportedly wants roughly 720 million dollars for its twenty-four per cent share.
