Mecca issued an emergency alert for the first time

Saudi Arabia issued an emergency warning in Mecca on Tuesday, the first in Islam's holiest city since Houthi forces began striking the kingdom this month. Civil Defence told residents to shelter indoors without saying what the danger was, then announced it had passed. Thirteen civilians were injured on Monday in attacks on Khamis Mushayt, Abha and Taif, according to the Saudi-led coalition.
