Margaret Hamilton, NASA Apollo software lead, dies at 90

American scientist Margaret Hamilton, who directed the computer system development for NASA's Apollo moon missions, died on September 30. Her former employer, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she taught from 1959 to the mid-1970s, confirmed her death. Hamilton received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016 in recognition of her significant achievements.
