Marco Rubio tells Russia the US wants to help end the Ukraine war
The US Secretary of State met his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, at a diplomatic gathering in the Philippines on Thursday. He passed on a message from President Donald Trump that Washington wants to find an acceptable middle ground to stop the fighting. Moscow replied that it still supports the peace proposals discussed by Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska last August.
