Many plastic bags don't belong in your home recycling

Many plastic bags you think are recyclable actually can't go in your home bin, causing problems for the system and the environment. New UK "Simpler Recycling" rules mean plastic film and bags will be collected for recycling from March 31, 2027. For now, things like stretchy plastics, food pouches, and dirty bags often aren't accepted by councils.
