Mansfield man Peter Murphy spent four days in coma after spider bite

Peter Murphy from Mansfield was put into a four-day coma after a spider bit his right wrist in October 2022. Doctors advised his wife, Toni, 62, that his arm might need amputation if the infection spread. After four operations, Peter, 61, learned he had necrotising fasciitis, a flesh-eating bug, along with cellulitis and sepsis.
