Man given life sentence for Edinburgh knifepoint rape

Aaron Strachan, 21, was given a life sentence at the High Court in Edinburgh on Monday for abducting and raping a 15-year-old girl at knifepoint in May 2025. Judge Michael O'Grady KC ordered lifelong restriction and set a five-year minimum before Strachan can seek parole. He was also convicted of assaults with a knife and a claw hammer that caused severe injuries.
