A 33-year-old man has been arrested after three Jewish women, one pushing a baby in a pram, reported being assaulted near Clapton Common in Hackney, north-east London. Volunteers from the Jewish neighbourhood watch group Shomrim held him until police arrived. The Met is treating it as a suspected antisemitic hate crime and has stepped up patrols. He was also arrested over a separate Islington incident.
