Man and woman dead after being pulled from the sea in Cornwall

The pair got into trouble at Fistral Beach in Newquay on Sunday evening, long after the daily lifeguard patrols ended. Multiple rescue crews and a coastguard helicopter brought them to shore at around 9.45pm, but neither survived. It follows another fatal incident in West Sussex earlier that afternoon, leading the RNLI charity to warn that heatwaves trigger a spike in drownings.
