Macron: UK and France share 'vital' responsibility for Europe's future

The French president posted on X after Andy Burnham hosted him at No 10, highlighting joint efforts to stop small Channel boats. He wrote that shared work on military defence, energy supplies, and backing Ukraine makes the alliance absolutely vital. These security comments arrived shortly after Kemi Badenoch, the Conservative leader, warned that a Russian strike on NATO might happen by 2030.
